Healthcare professionals in Carmichael have a smarter way to complete American Heart Association® BLS, ACLS, and PALS training. Self-Guided Learning™ courses at Safety Training Seminars combine self-paced online learning with an independent skills session at a CPR Verification Station™ learning center—no fixed class schedules, no instructor-led sessions required.
Whether you work at Mercy San Juan Medical Center just down Fair Oaks Boulevard, Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Medical Center on Morse Avenue, or UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, keeping your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard current is non-negotiable. The challenge is always time. Self-Guided Learning courses solve that problem directly.
Self-Guided Learning™ is a course-based learning approach from the American Heart Association®. It combines two components:
Learners complete both components on their own schedule. Upon successful completion, they receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
This is not instructor-led training. There is no classroom. No scheduled group session. You move at your own pace—and that matters when you’re managing a demanding clinical schedule near Ancil Hoffman Park or squeezing in training between double shifts.
Safety Training Seminars operates a CPR Verification Station learning center at 6020 Rutland Drive, Suite 23, Carmichael, CA 95608—located in Rutland Plaza, just minutes from the American River Parkway.
Founded in 1989, Safety Training Seminars is a woman-owned American Heart Association Training Center (ATC #20784) with more than 75 locations across California. The Carmichael office offers BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses for healthcare professionals seven days a week, from 8 AM to 10 PM.
The self-guided skills sessions at the Carmichael location are available to anyone who has completed the online learning portion of a HeartCode® Complete course. You schedule when it works for you. You complete the skills session independently. You walk out with your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard the same day.
The online portion of a Self-Guided Learning course uses True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously evaluates what you know and adjusts the content path in real time.
Here is what that means in practice:
The online learning activity can be completed on any compatible device—desktop, laptop, or tablet. A nurse finishing a night shift near Jensen Botanical Garden can log in from home. A paramedic stationed near the Effie Yeaw Nature Center can complete the course during downtime. The learning adapts to you, not the other way around.
Completing the online activity alone does not result in an AHA Course Completion eCard. The skills session is required.
After finishing the online learning, you visit the CPR Verification Station learning center in Carmichael. The skills session is completely self-guided.
At the CPR Verification Station learning center, you will:
The station measures your performance objectively against American Heart Association guidelines. No instructor evaluates you. No live coaching takes place. The feedback is immediate, standardized, and consistent—regardless of when you visit or which skills session you attend.
This removes the variability that can occur in traditional instructor-led settings. Every learner is measured against the same AHA-defined criteria.
Safety Training Seminars in Carmichael offers three Self-Guided Learning courses for healthcare professionals:
Each course results in an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard, accepted nationwide by hospitals, clinics, and employers—including facilities like Mercy San Juan Medical Center, which has served Carmichael for over 45 years and holds Level II Trauma Center verification from the American College of Surgeons.
Traditional classroom training requires everyone to show up at the same time, move at the same pace, and complete a fixed schedule. That model works—but it creates friction for healthcare workers with irregular hours, rotating shifts, and unpredictable days.
Self-Guided Learning courses remove that friction:
For initial or renewal learners who need their BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider eCard without disrupting their schedule, this approach delivers both flexibility and compliance.
Safety Training Seminars at 6020 Rutland Drive, Suite 23, Carmichael offers Self-Guided Learning™ courses for BLS, ACLS, and PALS seven days a week. Complete the online learning on your device. Visit the CPR Verification Station learning center when you are ready. Receive your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard the same day.

The online courses for both BLS and ACLS were so easy to follow and the hands on skills were also convenient to pick a time slot and guided me through everything so well. But a great place to go. It's a small room with two computers, two manikins and yourself!!Posted on Natalie SaephanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Informative and easy class. Love the convenience of doing online portion at home then going in person to perform on mannequin. This specific location was in a pretty tight space and other tenant rooms were noisy and smelly but you’re only there for a short time anyway.Posted on Adriana LepeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Super convenient. I needed my ACLS asap and this training program was perfect.
